So first I went to Lyon. (That's in France.)
In many ways, I prefer the city of Lyon over Paris. I just want you to sit and absorb that statement for a minute, because it will tell you just how much I absolutely fell in love with this city. Of all of the cities I have visited in Europe - and I have recently realized how large this list actually is - I say that out of all of them Lyon is where I would choose to live.
Let me show you why. Now with more pictures and less commentary:
Cathedral on top of the hill. Astonishing. Bonus: great views!
As you can see.
Another view, on a different day. Lyon is quite the hilly city.
Roman ruins are hidden in the hills!
True to form, I managed to find a farmers' market my first morning in Lyon.
Breakfast of champions? I think so.
Parks and streets.
I hung around with some kids with really fancy cameras.
Musée des Beaux-Arts. Entire rooms full of Monet, Renoir, etc.
Remember how I said Lyon was kinda like Paris? Lyon has two rivers. Yeah.
They're pretty spectacular by day...
...And by night.
And we had absolutely stunning weather.
Not pictured: ridiculously delicious food. (The French tend to stare when you get out your camera at the dinner table.) Salads and mousses and roasts and gratins and sandwiches and pastry, oh how I love the French.
Other success of the trip: I still speak French!
I hope this post will tide you over for the weekend, because tomorrow morning bright and early I am flying to Morocco until Sunday for some couscous and camel-riding (well, not really on the camel part, I just liked the alliteration). Oh hey, a new continent!

Ugh, I love it! Of course! I wish I knew someone who'd be in Lyon in the fall so I'd have an excuse to go there. Guess I don't need an excuse, really haha. But it looks so wonderful. Have fun in Morocco and continue to enjoy your French prowess!
